Rough Tor, Cornwall

Winter months in Cornwall in the south-west of England can be grim: it’s a small peninsula, battered by the sea and rain. The dramatic landscape of rough granite rocks on windswept Bodmin Moor inspired many of Daphne du Maurier’s novels – three of which were adapted into films by Hitchcock. It is an isolating, wild place, full of rough beauty and shadows.
